Assumption's magazine, ASPIRE, is sent out twice a year to current students and their families, alums, donors, and key members of the Assumption community to keep them connected and inform them about all of the latest updates going on at the school. I was tasked with interviewing three women for our Alumnae Spotlight section and writing two articles.
The first alumna I interviewed was Claudia Coffey '91. Claudia is a well-known journalist and the host of Great Day Live. It was a joy to interview her and learn more about her life and how Assumption helped start her on the path to success, and I am so proud of how the article turned out.
The next two alumnae I was tasked with interviewing were more recent graduates Katelyn Johnston '21 and Shayla Long '21. Katelyn and Shayla started a nonprofit called Clean4Change Kentucky during their junior year at Assumption, and they still continue to be involved with the organization's mission of combating climate change even years after graduation. After interviewing Katelyn and Shayla and learning more about them and their goals for their organization, I wrote the second Alumnae Spotlight article that highlights their charitable work.
